Business Architecture: Architecting Core Business Operations

November 18, 2014 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm CST

Please join us and our hosts at Cargill for our November meeting!

Journey with us through the eyes of one Business Architect as Community member Warwick Alcock outlines his experience and engagement to model the end-to-end core business operations of a global Minnesota-based company in the retail distribution and supply chain space. The presentation will cover the following:

  • The overall approach taken, starting with the high-level business model, value -stream framework and business strategy, and how these were decomposed into more detailed capability and process models
  • Governance for this initiative, and methods for ensuring good engagement across the organization
  • Examples of key frameworks and artifacts, along with an explanation of why they were helpful and how they were constructed
  • Key innovation drivers
  • Battle wounds: an outline of lessons learned, what the Architect would do differently next time around, and why
  • Recommendations

Audience engagement will be invited by means of a review of key templates and frameworks, which should stimulate some interesting discussion and Q&A. Ideas and recommendations from members of the audience based on their experiences & perspectives will also be invited. We look forward to an especially informative, interesting, and engaging session!

Don’t forget to also register and attend the TCBAF sponsored Midwest Architecture Community Collaboration event on November 13th — find more information at www.midwestacc.org!
