Please join us as we walk through Maturity Models in the business architecture practitioner context. We’ll:  Discuss some industry recognizable examples of maturity models such as SEI’s CMMI® Explore aspects of maturity models, focusing on practical use and benefits offered Examine Maturity Models relative to the work of the Business Architecture Guild BAMM (Business Architecture Maturity Model) Business Architect Competencies Framework We’ll discuss where the idea and need for business architecture practice maturity models came from and how the Business Architecture Guild has responded within the member community and integrated BIZBOK content. We’ll also look at summary and sample content, learn who has participated to create the models so far, and talk about where the Guild is headed next with the BAMM and how you can get involved! We’re happy to welcome Mary Lloyd as a presenter for the TCBAF! Mary is the Business Architect Practice Lead and Program Manager for the Enterprise Architecture Center of Excellence at MoneyGram International. She has over 18 years of experience supporting the business in various internal consulting roles. She has been heavily involved in the Business Architecture Guild for the last three years as a primary author and contributor of content and is currently the Collaboration Lead for the Business Architecture Maturity Model team. Linda Finley, TCBAF founder and Board Chair, will also share some thoughts relative to her work with the Business Architecture Guild and in the broader professional community. Business Architecture: Telling and Selling the Value Proposition Please join us as Trissential hosts our 3rd Anniversary meeting in St Paul! This meeting will feature presentations by Jeff Scott and Linda Finley, and we will nominate and elect our 3 open community at-large positions for our emerging Board! A key challenge for emerging business architects is in gaining management support to prove business architecture’s value and move the practice forward. Jeff’s presentation will examine the challenges of starting up a business architecture practice and present clear, actionable approaches to getting your business architecture sold and supported. Jeff Scott is the Vice President of Business and Technology Strategy for Accelare Inc., a US based management consulting firm enabling strategy execution excellence. Before Accelare, Jeff was a principal analyst with Forrester Research where he established Forrester’s business architecture practice; publishing over 50 research reports and numerous articles on the topics of business architecture, enterprise architecture management, and strategy development. Jeff is an internationally recognized thought leader in business architecture, IT leadership, and organizational innovation. He frequently speaks, writes, and teaches seminars on these topics. Jeff currently writes the blog: The Business Architect. Linda’s presentation will discuss the value and real-life applicability of business model facilitation, capability mapping, and a consultative approach to educate leaders—to open the door to authentic understanding of the organization’s journey from re-discovering its purpose to realizing its strategic intentions. Linda Finley is the founder of the TCBAF and newly appointed Board Chair, teaches Business Architecture at Metro State University, is a Board member of the Business Architecture Guild and a contributing author to the Business Architecture Book of Knowledge (BIZBOK). She consults in business architecture, leadership, business modeling, and culture transformation with many clients locally and regionally for Trissential and for Leadership Advantage.
